Green Tea
Recently voted "best drink of the day" in a Daily Mail feature, Double Dragon Green Tea is a high quality pure green tea in tea bag form which has been prepared with the minimum processing. Whilst the more familiar black tea is picked and left dry, then cut to release juices and enzymes and allowed to ferment so that the juices oxidise, green tea is merely allowed to wither after picking and then rolled so that beneficial juices and enzymes remain intact to offer maximum antioxidant protection.
In Britain the Tea Council has been working with The Free Radical Research Group at Guy's Hospital to study the antioxidant effects of both green and black tea, whilst Japanese research has indicated that regular intake of the polyphenol antioxidants which green tea juices contain may help to reduce the risk of lung, stomach and colonic cancers. Other researchers in American and Japan are investigating the possibility that green tea can also help to reduce Cholesterol and incidence of cardiovascular disease.
Traditionally green tea has been favoured for its anti-fat and diuretic properties and it has even been added to cosmetics for its skin-soothing and anti-inflammatory action.
